Preferred Public Relations Launches the Three Largest Headline-Making Projects in Nevada Within the Same Week
LAS VEGAS – November 29, 2007 – Preferred Public Relations (PPR) is the muscle behind three of the biggest Nevada news stories in the last week – the unveiling of plans for M Resort, Casino & Spa; the New Frontier implosion; and the transformation of Paris Las Vegas’ Eiffel Tower to the color red.
On November 7, PPR managed public and media relations efforts for the unveiling event that announced plans for M Resort, Spa and Casino. Expected to open in 2009, the 80-acre resort will be the largest resort in Henderson and one of the only resorts in the Las Vegas Valley with a north-south orientation. The event received widespread local coverage, as well as regional press with outlets including the Los Angeles Times and Western Real Estate Business, and national attention with Global Gaming Business, AOL, Yahoo!, and on the Reuters digital marquee in Times Square, New York City.
On November 12 and 13, PPR orchestrated the media event announcing future plans for the New Frontier site, followed by the massive media coverage of the implosion of the property at 2:30 a.m. World-renowned brand The Plaza Hotel is set to begin construction on the old New Frontier site in 2008, and will be the second largest private real estate development in the world. The Plaza’s unveiling event and the implosion of the New Frontier has garnered intense local, national and international coverage with outlets including ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “World News Tonight with Charles Gibson”; CNN International’s “Your World Today; CNN’s “Newsroom” and “American Morning; Fox News Channel’s “FOX and Friends” and “Hannity & Colmes”; as well as Fox Business Channel, MSNBC, Associated Press, the Los Angeles Times front page, LA Daily News and Yahoo.com; plus coverage with more than 200 top market television affiliates throughout the U.S.
And on November 15, PPR managed the media attention surrounding the first-ever transformation of the Paris Las Vegas Eiffel Tower to the color red. The event included actress Jennie Garth (“Beverly Hills, 90210”, “Dancing with the Stars”), who flipped the switch to light the tower red in honor of Beaujolais Nouveau, a long-celebrated French tradition that marks the release of its wine annually on the third Thursday of November, just six weeks after the harvest. At one minute past midnight, huge celebrations are held all over the world to taste the latest wine of the harvest. The unique tower lighting launched a series of weeklong resort activities surrounding Beaujolais Nouveau, the first time the property has ever celebrated the tradition. Coverage garnered for the event so far include local media outlets as well as nationals like “Entertainment Tonight”, People.com, Pink is the New Blog, Forbes.com, and more.
