“Legends in Concert” to produce the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – July 21, 2010 – Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE), Las Vegas' famed Fremont Street Experience and the celebrated tribute artist production "Legends in Concert,” presents the Ultimate Elvis Weekend. On Friday, July 23 and Saturday, July 24 as part of the “Summer of the ’70s” celebration, Fremont Street Experience is hosting the EPE-sanctioned preliminary round of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest which for the first time will be held in Las Vegas. Fans will also have the opportunity to belt out their favorite Elvis tunes during Elvis Karaoke, renew their wedding vows by “Elvis” from the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel and enter to win the Ultimate Elvis Getaway to Graceland or an Elvis-themed cruise.
Ultimate Elvis Tribute Competition
On Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight at the 1st Street Stage, Elvis competitors will don their blue suede shoes during the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest while guest judges determine the ‘best representation of the Elvis legacy’ in talent, appearance, performance, stage presence, and overall tribute. The winner of the competition wins $2,500 cash, a Graceland Getaway prize package and qualifies to compete in the 2010 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in Memphis, Tenn., during Elvis Week held Aug. 10-16.
The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in Memphis is one of the highlights of Elvis Week, attracting more than 70,000 fans worldwide last year. The winner of the contest will be offered the opportunity to sign a performance contract with “Legends in Concert,” $20,000 cash, recognition by EPE as the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist of 2010 and a selection of other valuable prizes.
Midnight Mass – Wedding Vow Renewal
At midnight on Friday and Saturday, visitors to Fremont Street Experience can participate in a group vow renewal ceremony conducted by “Elvis” in front of the 1st Street Stage. Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel will be conducting the Ultimate Elvis Ceremony for those who wish to renew their vows or take ceremonial vows for the first time. If a group ceremony is not your thing, “Elvis” will also preside over individual renewal ceremonies from 8 p.m. to midnight on Fremont Street Experience just east of Casino Center Drive … just look for the Pink Cadillac. There is a $25 fee per couple for the Midnight Mass and a $50 fee per couple for the individual renewal ceremonies.
Elvis Karaoke
Fans and budding tribute artists can sing their favorite Elvis classics at Elvis Karaoke on the Main Street Stage from midnight to 2 a.m. Sideburns and sequins aren’t mandatory, but fans will feel like the King himself, singing “All Shook Up” or “Jailhouse Rock” to the crowd.
Ultimate Elvis Giveaway
Two kiosks will be set up on Fremont Street where anyone will have the chance to win the Ultimate Elvis Getaway, in which two lucky winners will be whisked off to visit Graceland in Memphis or party on an Elvis-themed cruise out of Jacksonville, Fla.
